from struggling with speech to building confidence and saying words clearly

Name: Enzo
Challenge: Apraxia of Speech

Story Of Hope For Enzo

Mom originally noticed the challenge when he first started to walk. Enzo would slide one of his feet and then eventually he was just walking with a slight turned out foot. She also noticed that his legs could get really stiff when he was jumping or walking. He eventually got a diagnosis of Apraxia.👨‍⚕️

Later on she started noticing he was struggling a lot with his speech. He spent a lot of time in speech therapy, but his ability to clearly understand and communicate was always a challenge.😖

Time to nerd out for a second 🤓 Healthy movement and coordination in the nervous system is so fundamental to how the body functions. If the brain 🧠 is sending unclear signals to the body, then it can greatly interfere with the movement patterns of our kids…

And since healthy movement is foundational to the rest of the development of the nervous system (speech 🗣️, emotional regulation, decision making)- we often see immense positive changes in those areas when kiddos get regular nervous system focused care.

For Enzo, it was no different 😁, when his nervous system started getting more calm and balanced, not only were his movement patterns better, but his speech was more online too! 🎉

Now, mom says “Enzo is running more smoothly, he can jump with his feet leaving the ground. His mobility is so important that he’s able to walk jump play as a 4 1/2 year old should! Enzo has every chance to play sports and do everyday movements like other children his age!”

“Also regarding his speech we feel since he’s been coming he’s had more clarity and focus to help him comprehend how to say words clearer! He seems so much more sure of himself! He’s asking more questions and answers way more questions” 💙

GO ENZO 👏. Keeping asking all the questions, buddy. The same way your amazing momma asked the right questions to find answers, and to get your little body the help that it needed 🤗
