Hear what this amazing momma has to say about her daughter Megan’s transformation, 

“My daughter suffers from daily seizures. After 29 years of constant seizures, she began having mental health comorbidities. She would quickly get angry, strike out at us and she, herself, would call 911. This became a critical issue as she is her own guardian and could face legal ramifications. 

As a family, we were very frustrated. Living our own private terror in our home. No one could understand. She has neurologists and psychiatrists, but no one could help. I filled out a profile on her at the police station out of fear that they would overreact to her outbursts. There are so many stories in the news about individuals with disabilities getting tased or shot by police officers due to a lack of understanding of the condition. I prayed this would not happen to her. I just wanted to keep her safe.

She was receiving care from Board Certified Epilepsy Neurologists at both Summa Health in Ohio and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, along with a renowned Psychiatrist from Amen Clinic. Together, they tried to address her anger, anxiety, and depression, but they were not successful. I personally did not believe there were any treatments available to calm her mind and body.

Since starting at our PX Docs office last July, she has not had a single anger issue. When she gets upset, she can now calm herself down. This is a remarkable improvement in her quality of life.

We first knew it was working when we went a full week without her calling 911. Seriously, that is how often they were at our house. It was embarrassing, and we stayed secluded in our home.

Though Megan still suffers from seizures, we do not have to live with the constant fear of her calling 911. She can calm herself down and make good, safe decisions.” ❤️
